No-one said becoming a Director was easy.
Well, no-one except my wife, Georgina Kirkham Herrera, who said 'that sounds easy' when I surprised her on her birthday with the gift of a Directorship of Herrera Homes (only fair since she inspired the name) and told her how I'd gone about it.
Oh, and also my accountant, who said 'it's all quite easy' when I'd asked him in advance 'will it be difficult to make Gina a Director?'.
And come to think of it, me too - it was all DEAD easy. I don't know what the big fuss is.
Whilst we're paying £14.99 to officially make Gina a Director (that wasn't her main birthday gift - honest!) we work in a sector where men and women spend years working their way up into the position.
In my eyes, they're the REAL directors, running multiple teams over all different areas meeting all kinds of crazy targets. Someone who if I'd got talking to at a bar and they told me 'I'm a Construction Director' I'd be like 'oooooo Director Fwwwiend'.
(Here's us taking pictures in front of some massive buildings looking all Director-esque).
We have our own targets and pressures at Herrera Homes running a small construction recruitment business from our home. Gina now joins with more added responsibility, assisting me the lead recruiter in what's probably known as a 'resourcer' capacity in which she'll help with design, database, candidate job matching etc. So, big news for us and we're hoping it'll enhance and improve our capability for clients and candidates alike.
Catch-up with us at herrerahomes.co.uk for more details on jobs and what we do.
