Site Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join a site in South Manchester, a brand-new set of 35 plots, a four storey apartment scheme, which is ready for someone to join around mid-to-end-of-September when the demolition of the existing building has completed.

You’d be joining a family firm who’ve garnered an excellent reputation for building quality, affordable housing units in Greater Manchester, but also have some more complex schemes and larger apartment schemes veering into hi-rise territory, so there’s plenty to get your teeth into after this one is done.

I’m always honest with people when placing into this business in saying ‘it won’t make you rich but it won’t kill you either!’. They’ll offer a competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000 plus a car allowance and full package on top, but you don’t get half the stress you’d get at some of the bigger builders out there.

What they’d ask from you in return is definitely to have an NVQ Level 6 and to have experience of building traditional build or masonry brick and block apartments before.

I’ve placed into the company loads of times and they put an onus on looking after their staff and most people join because they want to work in an environment that doesn’t burn them out, one who puts on onus on getting your qualifications and one who have loads of sites within the Greater Manchester area (normally about 12/13 at a time).  Plus they’re all a bunch of good eggs – who wants to work with rotters?
