A leading brickwork contractor are looking to appoint a Foreman or Assistant Site Manager for an immediate start to oversee one of their main projects in Salford, a 100-unit apartment block built to specialist conditions. With the potential afterwards to work on some of Manchester and Salford’s flagship hi-rise buildings, proper skyscrapers, we can say that we might not be able to afford to live in them but that we definitely helped to build them!

For that ASAP start, you’ll either come from a Bricklaying background and have experience as a Supervisor or Foreman either for a contractor or housebuilder/residential contractor, ideally on apartment schemes from 3 and 4 storeys up. If you’re an Assistant Site Manager, again your experience will ideally match the above but if you have facades experience only, that would work.

This particular job will last until the end of the year (but more likely beyond) and the brickie contractor has set work in Manchester and Salford until the end of 2026 and with their new contract wins, probably into 2027 too.

The brickwork contractor you’ll be joining are a family run firm, are tight knit and are on the ascendancy in terms of work and reputation.  They have had a very profitable last few years and look to promote from within – I had a Site Manager start last year who has already had a pay-rise due to top performance.  They have a range of clients, both hi-rise residential, traditional house build and commercial, pay well, offer long-term bonuses for successful projects and also have a long-term pipeline but I’d say the big plus is the hi-rise projects they do in Manchester – you have a chance to work on some proper flagship sites in the future.

In return, they’ll be looking for a professional Foreman or Assistant Site Manager who has a bricklaying background (not essential), someone professional who can juggle several hats with the client including the standard running of programmes, health and safety, day to day site inspections and build.

Summary:
  • Brickwork Foreman or Assistant Site Manager to join specialist sub-contractor ASAP.

  • Initially to complete a residential project in Salford which will take you to the end of the year (possibly beyond).

  • Interviews will take place ASAP for the right candidate – ideally from a brickwork background with a strong residential focus who has worked on hi-rise including mast climbers and brickslip.

  • Excellent salary and package for the right candidate and progression offered.
