A private housebuild business in East Lancashire is looking to replace an Architectural Technician within their business, ideally with someone experienced who’s worked in the same position before with a large housebuilder, and they’re at a crucial point with their design of new units which could make this an interesting one for you if that is your speciality.
The Technical Director, who has been in the business many years, said the business is at a pivotal point with the design of their units due to the new rules and regulations from the NHBC. The Managing Director of the firm has asked the Design team to go back to the drawing board with some of the housetypes so if that’s your speciality, you have a chance to come in and put a stamp on what the business builds for many years to come.
And the short term is also rosy – they have planning in or approved for several large sites in Lancaster, Rochdale and Bolton – so they expect the next 6-12 months to be very busy. They’ll offer you a decent salary between £40,000 to £50,000 plus package depending on your experience but to lure the right person, there may be some sway in that.
It’s a private business, the Technical Director says everyone mucks together and you won’t get pigeon-holed like you do in some other big PLC’s – this is a good chance to work with a technical team of 5 who all work together to get to the end result.

The ideal candidate would be from a housebuilding background or practice and be very strong with housetypes with experience in layout and planning, too.
The business you’ll be joining is looking to expand 25% in the next 12 months.
